Every dog is different, and so is every owner's reason for coming to training.
Whether you've just brought home a puppy, want a well-mannered family dog, need help with a behaviour issue, or simply want to keep developing your dog's skills, we have training options to suit you.
At Parkavon, we don't just teach dogs commands. We teach owners how to understand and work with their dogs, so the skills you learn can become part of everyday life.
We have our own private, fully fenced training field and indoor training shed, giving us a safe, controlled and comfortable environment to train in, whatever the weather.
Our group classes can also form a training pathway as your dog grows:
Puppy Class → Good Manners → Better Manners
Puppy Class builds the foundations, Good Manners develops reliable everyday skills, and Better Manners adds more challenge, distractions and reliability. You don't have to complete every course.
Each course is designed to stand on its own, so you can choose what works for you and your dog. If you enjoy training and want to keep progressing, you can continue through the different stages as your dog grows.
Our trainings are led by K9 Behaviourist Kerry Hurst, who delivers our puppy training, obedience, scent work, behavioural and specialised trainings.
We also offer Agility Training with NZ Champion Jess Tansey. Whatever you're working towards, we're here to help you build a dog you can enjoy living with.

We have our very own private training field, at Parkavon Dog Training which is fully fenced.
